"Mercury Music is by far one of the best indie records of the year. It surpasses Maine music, it exists among my favorite
records of all time. Lyrically vivid and inspiring." -Dave Gutter
"A trip of an album... empowering and uplifting... Heelan plays with deliveries and genres,
croons and belts, is political and isn't, and largely creates enjoyable and interesting music... (MERCURY MUSIC) revels in
variety and feels free-form and unconcerned with trying to fit any specific mold." - Sam Pfeifle (the Portland Phoenix)

Port City Music Hall show August 31st.... New music video!
 Huge hugs , kisses , and ass-slaps
to everyone that came out to Port City Music Hall on August 31st! It was certainly one of the most successful
shows to date. Great turnout, great crowd energy, great performances. Wyatt King & The Sex Machines started
the night out with hands down the best set I have seen them play yet. They had their usual lineup plus the addition of Dave
Arsenault on electric guitar. They sounded thunderous! My band for this show was really great... Tony McNaboe
(Rustic Overtones, Ray Lamontagne, Tony McNaboe, Paranoid Social Club) did a fantastic job on drums... It's always a special
treat to play or hang with Tony... Matt Cosby (Pete Kilpatrick Band, Jeremiah Freed, All the Real Girls)
played some tasty bass... Andrew Doody (Bob Charest Band, El Grande) blew Tenor Sax like a champ... Jon
Parker played electric guitar.... and the lovely Kaiti Jones and Megan Martelle provided
some beautiful viola and violin on a few songs. We were also very lucky to have Jimbo Begley doing sound
for us that night... He really knows what he's doing with live sound and always has the best mixes... As a drummer himself,
he is always good about making the rhythm section sound big. Our set consisted of most of the songs of my album MERCURY
MUSIC, plus a rendition of Dave Matthews' "Stay or Leave," and a solo encore performance
of my yet to be released song "BOOM BOOM." Also big thanks to my sister Anne and
her friend Jenny for helping to sell so many copies of my record at this show! I will post the live recordings
of my set from this night soon. Super rad night. On
another note, I recently put together a bizarre/funny/creepy/highly amusing video for my song "YOUNG &
INVINCIBLE." I've posted a link on the site that you can click to view it... Take a look and be sure to post
a comment letting me know what you think. I have also put up a link where you can hear my interview on 102.9 WBLM
with Charlie Gaylord. There are more videos on their way for songs off of MERCURY MUSIC...
Stay tuned. Hugs, kisses, & ass-slaps, -Hutch

Fury's show... May 8th Birthday Bonanza... Dr. Dog
The show at Fury's in Dover went well... Thanks to everyone that watched my set and picked up a copy of my record! It was
a good night all around... good variety of talent. I'm bummed that I missed EYENINE perform and wasn't able to stick around for the big blow-out jam at the end of the night, but it was
a great night regardless. The weekend was full of good times with my boys Wyatt King, Pat Horn, Mark Quinn and Scott Reiner.
We hit up the LOVERLESS/ BEBE BUELL / TWISTED ROOTS and just
got our freaky creep on. Sunday was spent in a hang over coma, then monday was Lady Lamb the beekeeper and Dr. Dog at Port City
Music Hall. I was a big fan of Dr. Dog when I saw them open for My Morning Jacket at Space Gallery many moons ago... but I
must admit I'm not that into them anymore. Just not my cup of noodles. Lady Lamb however was quite captivating... and I liked
her more than Dr. Dog! All around a great weekend... Now its time to get practicing and get things lined up for the Big Easy show May 22nd... See you there!

Brian Boru acoustic show...
I played an acoustic set at Brian Boru in Portland on Sunday night. I always prefer to play with a full band because it helps
paint the picture a lot more, but I still have fun with just my voice and guitar too. I played most of the songs off my album
and threw in a cover of "Cure For Pain" by Morphine. Robin
Ivy was in attendance so I figured she'd appreciate hearing some Morphine. This show was opening for "The Dirty Secrets" and "The Desires"... After I performed Kurt Baker of "The Desires" treated me to a couple tokes off a one-hitter on the back deck... then
I got to watch most of the dirty secrets' set and they sounded good.. my friend Sarah Mallory killed it on the drums even though she told me a bunch of times how bad of a drummer she is haha.
Sadly I missed "The Desires"... I've been looking forward to seeing them... next time. Thanks to everyone who watched
my set, especially Justin Scott and his Posse for coming out...
